Amanda Bossard graduated from high school in 1992 and began her studies in marine science at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Bossard began her career working in the commercial seafood sector in 1999. That year, she worked on Murat Aritan's 65-foot halibut boat. It was later converted into a fish tender. Bossard has been married to Aritan and has joined their forces in order to claim their respective industries. They believe in conservative, sustainable management of renewable seafood resources. Otolith has opened its market direct wholesale distributorship in Philadelphia after Bossard came back from her home home with her two daughters, Bella 3 years old and Andre one, and Andre 1, to Philadelphia. In 2007, Bossard, mother to two kids Bella, age 3, and Andre 1 and returning to Philadelphia from her native Canada, opened Otolith as a wholesale direct market seafood distributor. Bossard, their son Andre and daughter Isabella will be returning back to Southeast Alaska every summer as deckhands during the salmon season. For two months, Bossard, along with her daughter Isabella use hooks & lines to fish for their desired salmon. Aritan will then sell their catch for processing locally. Amanda Bossard was hired as anchor for News 12/MMJ and News 12 Anchor/MMJ and News 12 Brooklyn in November 2015. She's passionate about reporting on the lives of communities she is a part of and the places she works in.
